Very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I had the great good fortune to spend a lot of time with Jim in the 70s & 80s when we played football and cricket together for Bowaters in Northfleet.
He was always fun to be with and I loved his sense of humour. He had a talent for giving people affectionate names, ie muppet. Mine was 'index linked'. I was in the civil service and Jim enjoyed ribbing me about the (so called) gold plated, index linked pension. I think about him often but lost touch with Jim more recently which makes me even more sad that I will not now have an opportunity to buy him a drink out of that pension!!
Thanks Jim, who I am lucky to have called a friend, for brightening my life.

I sit here with a smile on my face recalling the the fun we had on the school skiing trips and the wednesdays rock climbing how he ever managed to put up with a bunch of silly school girls, but I remember we had a good laugh.

Jim will always be remembered and loved by our family. A gentleman who we loved to chat to, who always had time to help and join in. Our words cannot express the loss we feel at this time we will remember him always and will be glad that he was a part of our lives.
